Antique Giltwood Overmantle Mirror

LOOK & FEEL

This gilt overmantle has a perfect period look with its rich gold finish, gently curved arched top and scrolled acanthus feet to the base, perfect for over a period fireplace or a grand console table.

STYLE FOR YOU

This simple but elegant overmantle works well in a Victorian or Georgian interior, it has the class English Manor styling that works just as well in an eclectic contemporary interior.  Pairs beautifully with an ornate fireplace, vintage wall sconces,  velvet upholstery and carved wooden furniture.

What style of interior does this antique gold mirror suit?
The ornate frame makes it a natural fit for traditional, period-inspired and classic interiors. It also works well in eclectic spaces, where its decorative detailing can contrast with simpler furniture and contemporary finishes.

How should I check whether the mirror will fit my space?
Allow for the full 120cm height and 120cm width, including the outer frame. If placing it above a fireplace, measure the wall area above the mantel and consider the proportions of the fireplace beneath it. Also check the available depth and fixing requirements before installation.

Can this mirror be used somewhere other than above a fireplace?
Yes. Although its shape makes it particularly suited to an overmantel setting, it can also be used on a large wall in a living room, dining room or entrance hall. Its decorative frame makes it a feature in its own right.

Does the antique gold frame have a bright or aged appearance?
The frame has an antique gold appearance, with a warm, aged-looking finish rather than the look of plain, highly polished gold. This gives the mirror a traditional character that works well with warm wood tones, neutral colours and brass accessories.
